Starting from Horizon version 2406, it is now supporting the subscription activation without Horizon Edge appliance.
This can simplify the activation procedure if the customer does not have any plan to use those advanced features providing by the Horizon Cloud Console.
Instead of activating with Edge appliance, the edgeless mode will have the Connection Server contacting the Horizon Control Plane and get activation directly.
Please aware this activation is a MANUAL PROCESS. And need to reactivate the license EVERY 105 DAYS.
And you also need to fulfil the following pre-requisites before the activation process.
Internet access from Connection Server. (Direct or through proxy)
Already onboarded your Horizon Cloud Console.
You could follow the steps below to activate the Horizon subscription license manually.
Assume your Horizon is now licensing with a key.
Login to the Connection admin URL.
Netvigate to the "Product Licensing and Usage" page.
Select "Licensing" tab.
Click "Switch to Subscription".
Click "I confirm that i am singed in to Horizon Universal Console ...............".
Click "Next".
Click "Start Activation".
You will be redirected to your Horizon Cloud Console.
Login with your admin account.
Go to "Subscriptions" page.
Click "Activate License".
You will be redirected back to Connection Server admin page automatically after 5 seconds.
Your Horizon will be licensed.
And you need to redo this procedure every 105 days to keep the Horizon activated.
