This year, a new versison of Horizon Cloud Portal (Horiozn Next-gen) is launched. The new console can better ultilize the Azure resources for VDI use case. And the pervious version of consle is no longer available for new users.
The Horiozn Next-gen console also come with a new procedure of licensing Horizon on-perm deployment. Thsi blog will first walk you through the onboarding procedure of Horiozn Next-gen. And a dediacted blog will cover the licening procedure.
First of all, a welcome email as following will be sent to the email address registered during purchase.
You will find the "Get Started" button in the welcome email.
Click it.
It will redirect you to the VMware Cloud Service Portal.
Login the console with your VM connect ID.
Once login, the Organization Setup window will appear.
Provide the "Organization Name".
Check "I agree to VMware Terms of Service".
Click "Create Organization and Complete Sign-up" button.
The procedure will bring you to the Cloud Service Portal.
Click the "Squares" button on the upper right corner.
Click "Cloud Services Console".
From the Console, select "Services".
Select "Organization" tab.
Find "Workspace ONE" and click "Launch Service".
It will now bring you to the Workspace One portal.
Click "My Workspace".
Find the "Horizon Cloud" box. Click "Launch".
Select the region closest to your location.
In Hong Kong, normally Japan will most responsive.
Select "Japan".
Check "I have read, understand and agree to the VMware General Terms".
Click "Save & Continue".
Click the "Select" button under Next-Gen Horizon Control Plane.
*** Starting from Oct 2023, the Horizon Control Plane will not available. And this option will disappear for choosing.
Click "Continue".
Click "I Understand".
The Horizon Next-gen Console is now ready for use.
